Academy Educator Scholarship Program The Colorado Academy of Educators for the Gifted, Talented, and Creative (CAEGTC) makes available scholarships to Colorado educators who have demonstrated a commitment to a career direction in gifted education. The Academy scholarship program provides yearly scholarships for selected educators who are actively pursuing a graduate degree in gifted education or seeking Colorado state endorsement in gifted education. The number of scholarhips and amount of financial award available for any given year may vary depending on the resources of the Academy.
2010-2011 Academy Teacher Scholarship

Information:
The 2010-2011
Academy Teacher Scholarship will provide $500 to selected recipients.
One scholarship will be awarded this year in honor of Shirley
Weddel; and another scholarship will be awarded by way of recognition from the Academy.
Eligibility:
To be considered for a CAEGTC Educator Scholarship, an educator must:

Hold a current Colorado educator license;

Be pursuing a graduate degree and/or Colorado Gifted Education Specialist Endorsement

Have a demonstrated commitment to a career directly related to the provision of educational services to gifted children (teaching gifted students, coordinating Gifted Education program, GT resource teacher, twice exceptional teacher, GT counselor, special educator, etc.)
Selection Criteria:
Applicants
are evaluated on demonstration
of potential and commitment to serving the field of Gifted
Education as conveyed through the application materials.
Materials to be submitted:
- Letter of application
- The letter of application is a critical part of the application process and should clearly demonstrate the applicant’s commitment to the field of Gifted Education and to serving GT students.
- Two letters of recommendation supporting applicant’s commitment to the field
- Copy of Colorado educator license
- Transcript of current graduate education involvement
- Resume
Timeline:

materials must be postmarked by December 1, 2010.

Scholarship
Review Committee reviews applications during December,
2010.

Recipients
informed by January, 2011.

Recipients'
acceptance or declination response due by February 5,
2011.
- Scholarship
funds distributed to recipients by end of February, 2011,
upon notification of registration for course work. Recipients
must submit registration documents to initiate distribution
of funds.
